| Your first step into the exciting world of scuba diving begins with earning your Open Water Certification. This entry-level course is designed to provide you with the basic knowledge and skills to safely gain experience in the diving environment, and will prepare you for more advanced training.
The open water certification course consists of up to 30 hours of classroom and pool instruction, plus four open water dives. Upon completing this course you will receive your official and internationally recognized PADI (Professional Association of Diving Instructors) Open Water Certification. PADI sets the standards in the global diving community.
The Open Water Certification class generally meets once a week until all your class and pool work is completed. The course includes several written tests and a final exam, which each student must successfully complete. Pool sessions will prepare you for your open water dives, normally done on weekends at a local dive site. During open water dives, you will be required to demonstrate a mastery of the diving skills learned in the pool.
During your training, Aquatic World will provide your regulator, BCD, tanks, wetsuit with hood, and weight belts. All students are required to provide their own student kit (PADI Crew Pak), mask, fins, snorkel, boots, gloves, and mouthpiece (training package deals available).
Cost of the Open Water Certification is $305, plus a $50 refundable deposit for course videos. There are no hidden charges for equipment rental, open water dives or certification cards.
