PADI Underwater Digital Photography Specialty Course

Why PADI Underwater Digital Photography Specialty Course?

PADI Underwater Digital Photography Specialty Course

Aquatic World will begin offering an UW Photography Course focusing mainly on digital photography. If you have ever wanted to expand your diving experience to include photography this is a great way to get started. If you currently have a camera and are experiencing difficulty getting the results you want, we can help you make improvements and get the pictures you will be proud to enlarge and frame.
To take great underwater photos, you need to understand the basics of photography which apply to both film and digital technology. Even though many cameras can function in “automatic” mode on the surface, this mode doesn't work well underwater. To get your best results, most cameras must be operated in a manual mode underwater requiring the photographer to understand the basics. This course will cover photography basics, digital basics, camera and housing selection, basic photo editing techniques and software selection and helpful web resources. For those taking the full certification, we will also spend time on buoyancy control, which is a must for underwater photography, and take trips to local dive sites to take photos.
Tim Corcoran, an Aquatic World instructor, will be leading this course and has had significant experience over the past few years with digital photography. He will share with you his experiences and help guide you to better picture taking.
